Absolutely spot on. Id also add physically theyre not fit enough....mentally theyre not tough enough. Theres something intrinsically wrong if professional footballers, toned and trained with sophisticated evaluations and state of the art facilities, nevertheless look half way through the second half red faced and blowing for tugs like a hungover docker walking up Boundary Street with a Capstan Full Strength on the go. Theres no mental nous to see things through... the undisciplined way we play generally in the last 10/15 mins of games, not just the way we concede goals straight after scoring but also our naïve play. Point A), 'not being arsed' though is totally unacceptable from anyone pulling the royal blue shirt on and is a complete insult. Style over substance may have been the early criticism....but now both have subsided, thank God were running out of games to throw away.

Spot on mate. It's been unacceptable for the best part of 18 months as well mate from the players. Like I've said previously,Martinez should be sacked but if I could I would bin half of this so called quality team for being an absolute disgrace to the shirt. Attitude of some of them has been embarrassing. I've never known such a fragile group of players.

Agreed with this completely.
Players can have a big say in a mangers future. If they don't perform it's the manager that walks most of the time . Martinez is a dead man walking but I hope whoever comes In spots the players that are basically non triers and gets rid

I don't really see how people can claim the players are getting an easy ride. They get booed off home and away every week at the moment, people are screaming at them during games, their own threads on here are full of people slating them, and they sure as hell aren't picking up too many win bonuses.

Obviously it looks like Martinez is getting a lot more stick because he's on his own and there's 20 odd players to share out the blame, but it's safe to say people are far from happy with them.

The players have to shoulder a good proportion of the blame. Fitness is terrible Del is a young man and seems to have the lung capacity of Darth Vader - winger FFS. The mentality is shocking, how professional players can collapse in such short order within games that they are seemingly dominating is beyond me.

I think they need someone to come in and fire a rocket up their hoops (not tell them they are the greatest player the worlds ever seen!)

It'll never ever happen but always thought the best situation would be to let footballers get paid all the riches of the modern game as win bonuses but stick them on a basic that is the same as the guy on the terrace. These guys nowadays get paid tens of thousands week in week out, win lose or draw where is the incentive.

For me all the players needs more criticism.
How many games have we seen pressure on the opponent 1 or 2 for the rest every opponent could have a field day against us.
But maybe thats the way martinez wants us to play.
Like 10year old schoolgirls.

I voted yes, but it is a balanced yes. If players are being asked to play in a way that they are not comfortable with then they will struggle. The longer it goes on the more frustrations grow. I have a degree of sympathy for players struggling trying to do things which obviously doesn't suit them.
But my sympathies only go a short way. I believe Martinez is out of his depth and has been for quite a while, but he is the manager and they are getting paid very well to carry out his instructions. A good manager can spot when he is losing the support of his players and should react. Martinez would seem to have lost the players completely.
On balance players should do the job they are paid to do, our haven't always done that and should be criticised for that.
To say there is no sanction on them is not strictly true, will the new manager want players in his team who have led a revolt against his predecessor.
Watch Conte at Chelsea, he will rid himself of trouble makers.

I'm going to say no. Their performances reflect the manager and coaching. Very hard to make things work without that. A lot of the same players had great application and chemistry (to use Leighton's word) under Moyes. I don't believe they can't be bothered , they're just not organised or trained (including fitness) very well
