In true Everton style, this has just been tagged to the bottom of a cascade of social media

After each game? So you and your youngest family members can now hope to bump into Lukaku, earphones on, as he sulks his way out of the carpark at 6pm.

Another bit of fan engagement removed for, let's be honest, little or no obvious net benefit to the players other than they don't have to deign to give up five minutes of their precious time with the great unwashed... who just so happen to contribute to the paying of their wages.

Nothing will be the same.

What's your view? Understandable removal or a tradition or a damning indictment of the current direction of travel? Have your say below.

To be fair if build up is less relaxed on match days then that can only be a good thing.

To use a term, players getting into their game face earlier on match days I'm happy with, after the game they can relax but just concentrate on the game on a Saturday is a good thing.

The club must be expecting to win a lot of games this season, because doing this after a match is an absolutely terrible idea, we might aswell just line the players up and stone them. it'll be a bear pit!

Agree with this.

Could you imagine a player's parade with Snivelley and McGeady in it after a home defeat? Especially a, horror of horrors, a home Derby defeat. It would be like the Blue Union nutters shouting bravely through the railings at Kenwright but much, much worse.

Honestly, this is proper mental. If they are knocking it on the head before, don't do it after - a big defeat and the mobs will be there with their pitch forks.

After match bad idea !

If the before match is canned to get the players prepared and up for the game in a better way then that is fine - but surely they can roll out a couple of non match day squad players or those nearing a return from injury or the old and bold retired mob to do the community engagement piece for the kids.

It just isn't going to happen is it, let's be honest. Next it'll be like the nasty party across the park, with players not stopping after or before training.

So other than those very welcome Christmas trips to Alder Hey and good peoples like Ashley Williams setting up schemes for the underprivileged, the likes of Lukaku et al. will barely have to give anything back for their cash.

It's a strange one really - it wouldn't be tolerated in US sports at all. Fan engagement is massive, especially in American netball.

I'm all for this - an example of the change of mindset Koeman is bringing to the club. Far too easy for players to go missing during matches then hide in the dressing rooms until it's safe to leave. Now they'll have to face up to the fans. What an incentive to put in a shift :)

Given their performances last year, I'd prefer them to concentrate on their game than sign autographs.

But do you think it will actually have any tangible effect? It used to be about 5 mins of their time. It isn't going to happen after the game for obvious reasons.

Think it shows the sad erosion of any remaining fan - player rapport.
