Player send offs

Are they a good idea?

Tim Howard had a fantastic send off today (which will go some way towards erasing some of the abuse he received this season from sections of the Goodison crowd), but what is it that should determine who receives one?

Length of service?

Talent?

Success on the pitch?

Popularity?

10 years service demands respect I personally think.

Howard Hibbert osman may not be club Legends but they are great servants, and should be sent off with that appreciation

Tim Howard has been our number 1 for ten years. This season he wasn't great but how can people even question a good send off for him?
Reward people who have been loyal to us. He gave us 100 percent every game. Hibbert. 100 every game.

Whats the story with Osman, Pienaar and Hibbert (and Gibson I suppose)?
Had thought today was their farewell too, are they not all out of contract?

It's a weird one. Most of the longest servers at Everton are generally players that wouldn't last more than a year or two at the other established clubs in the league, and I'd count Howard as one of those.

I reckon Baines deserves something special. He was one of the best in the world in his position at one time, and decided to stay at Everton when he could have tested himself at the very top.

I was surprised that Hibbert and Osman didn't get some similar treatment so maybe that means they will be staying at the club in some capacity?

I think that and possibly because they've barely played in two seasons.

Hibbo was boss in his last game and the fans let him know...for me a great send off.

Fantastic servant for our club, people have short memories, will never forget his heroics in the shootout against Man U in 2009 . Good luck Tim , you are a official Goodison Legend.
