ah yeah bassong would be a shout for centre back - shawcross is laughable though - cheats every game and gets away with it - talentless footballer, thank **** he didn't choose to represent wales

Nobody seems to have noticed, I went for a one player per team look for TOTY just to make it that bit more difficult.

We will be meeting our friend shawcross soon,it started to go wrong after felle got his ban against that yard dog
Should get a good reception,

RVP's goals seem to have wrapped the title up for Man U. But the goals from the racist over the park have carried them all season and when he has played well they have performed much better - I hope he forces a move this summer.

Remember when Cookachoo said Liverpool couldnt buy a better winger for 20m than Downing

LOL

Well you did lad

Tell me an undebatably better, out and out winger than Downing that could be bought for £20m in the current market ?Valencia couldn't, certainly not by Liverpool anyway.

Juan Mata is not an out and out winger, he's more like Nasri or Silva, nor is Hazard (who doesn't want to leave Lille, and when he does it won't be for £20m). Navas is not better than Downing, i can name you 10 better wingers than Navas in La Liga alone. He's a good player but there's also the doubts over his ability to function well for extended periods outside of Seville.

I'm talking about this market, not 3 years ago when all those players moved, Robben and Ribery would not go for £20m in this market. Valencia and Nani would not go for £16m in this market, particularly not to Liverpool. My point was, who could Liverpool buy for £20m that meets the same criteria that Downing does. There are plenty of wide players that are better than him, Mata is certainly the better Footballer, but if your using a system of wingers, then signing Mata would be pointless.

I didn't say there wasn't a better winger out there.

I said that for what they seemed to be doing - building around their gross overinvestment in Carroll - they needed an old fashioned out and out winger who would get crosses in to the box, and would offer a seamless transition to Premier League Football.

There aren't many of those about in modern Football and Downing represented exactly that. There would have been better value for money signings if they had time, and if money was no object they could have certainly got more quality. But time and money was something they didn't have, they needed someone who could rain crosses into the box for Carroll immediately.

He's certainly not been value for money, but you see the point, he was bought to support Carroll
