Player Valuation: £50k
As the title says I played against an Everton legends team yesterday in a Charity match. What an experience. One of the best days of my life, all the players were absolutly sound.

If anyone ever gets the chance to play in one of these games do it, well worth the money.

Steve Simonsen, Ian Snodin, Peter Beagrie, Graham Stuart, Joe Parkinson and Stuart Barlow managed by Joe Royle. Stubbs pulled out at the last minute and Sharp and Farrelly pulled out mid week with injuries. Finished 2-2 which was a good result for us considering we thought we would get hammered!

.....was fortunate to play FOR Everton in one of these games many years ago. Dave Hickson was managing the team I played for and asked me to play. It was great. Different era of players, but Dave played along with Derek Temple, Brian Harris (I think) and a few others.

Haha your right, but I think that's what they call all ex players XI's. Don't think the players would like to be called old players or anything. With Simonsen, Except for Southall you'd be hard pushed to find an Everton legend that could play in goal.

When I get around to taking the pictures off my camera I will put some up.

Nice one mate, very jealous.

Would love to do this one day, as I am boss at footy, like.

Brilliant mate I should of done something like this when I could play (years ago mind). Me and a mate turned down a trial at Liverpool in the 70s cos it was Liverpool. I still hold a grudge against Everton for not spotting the next Cruyff (err... me), no wonder we went downhill :D.

Beagrie was their best player still has all the tricks. They were all still very good, they just hold onto the ball which makes it very hard to play against. Thats how they got their goals, slow build up play and Barlow made a bit of space to finish both.

Parkinson is still boss alright but you can see his injuries took there toll on him. He was marking me for a while before he had to go off knackered! Told me after he was impressed with my movement off the ball, I was chuffed even though he prob didnt mean it haha.

Well done mate!

my movement off the ball is impressively difficult to read...it's my movement with the ball that handicaps me.
