i played 5aside for free today, actually it cost me 3 pound 50 pence

Also played in a 5-a side futsal tournament today. Our captain had registered us, without thinking I presume. It was extremely problematic. 1) we normally don’t play futsal (10 a side). 2) it was for competitive teams, not recreational ones. Group stages were extremely painful, ending with a goal difference of -20 (only three games). Further games to determine the final team position were also lost. We ended up being last - no surprise there. We did however win the fair play award and the award for the best ‘fans’ (we only had two). I assume they pitied us. Essentially we won 2 rounds of free drinks. The winners received Chelsea shirts.

when you've just played casual games, and then enter a competitive situation against lads you don't know, the little jump in the levels can surprise you and drain you a little, especially if its a different discipline as I imagine futsal is, at the end of the day free drink is free drink
