The play acting in the premier league is beyond a joke (other leagues as well) and the commentators don’t say anything as it’s just a norm now for a fully grown man to roll around after being touched by a opposition player. The refs take no action despite players diving (most say no and tell them to play on with no yellow) Commentators and pundits encourage players to go down with the slightest of touches to win free kicks and penalties but surely that’s simulation? How often do we see a yellow card produced for diving? The simulation rule got used against niasse anyone else? The amount of cameras these days how do players get away with it? Games gone soft massively! Rules Need to change... rant over

What's sparked you off on this mate - was there a bad example this weekend?

IDK it doesn't seem that bad to me but I don't watch a lot of football outside of our games. There are some absolutely shameful examples but overall is it really happening to a level that blights the game?

If you want to call 'drawing fouls' simulation then that is part of the game now. Not very hard or manly, but yard dog centre halves walloping skilled players ten foot in the air isn't hard or manly, either, IMHO. Outlawing tackles from behind years back, and just generally penalising excessive physical play was a good thing for the game. Defenders need to be cautious in the tackle and alehouse hardman players are obsolete.

At the end of the day football players are doing a job, and that job is to win games. If falling down and rolling around is going to give them an advantage and they are able to get away with/can do it within the boundaries of the law then in a way they would be in dereliction of duty if they didn't. There are millions of pounds and peoples jobs at stake. The only way to fix is is through better ruling and refereeing.

Got to say it winds me up ,carragher criticises richarlison for it and got to say when were at the game the lads by me say get up to our lad .but come on you only have to blow at one of there lot over the park and they fall like they've been shot, so sad its come into the premier league but inevitable

What winfs me up is when a player fouls another then goes down rolling round like hes on fire trying to avoid a booking.

Examples

Andy Robertson vs allan and rose
Elneney v tarkovski tonight.

These actions should be retrospectively punished with 1 game bans

There's just no consistency in punishing the offenders, especially those on the red half of Merseyside. Salah and mane are both a disgrace.

Another one at it was Recce James last night - good player, but far too happy too fall on his arse and win free kicks, but when you've got useless officials like moss in the middle, can you blame him?

I wish we did the snidey stuff much better - were crap at it.

The RS [Poor language removed] game at first watching mane take a dive as well as Salah then the Leicester game even more tielemans play acting despite not even getting touched and the ref diving free kicks for it, I’m sure there was a few more probably Maddison. Blatant cheating and it is spoiling the game. To a non football fan it must look embarrassing. I don’t like Richarlisons rolling around antics and he’s up there with the worst but there all at it.

If you're a manager these days can you blame them for telling players to go down at the slightest contact? Especially in the box. VAR has increased the chances of a penalty from contact 10 fold. Me, you, the Ref will look at it 100 times and say not a penalty but VAR just sees contact and bang, has to be a pen. They've made a rod for their own back because if there is any contact they simply have to give it or they get pulled up for lack of consistency. They're just making it up as they go along.

Richarlison every time he fouls someone. IE a lot.
