Planning Permission hard to object it?

I don't live in a castle with a keep around it just a mansion with a 20 foot x 17 feet high extension proposal going up!
The planning laws are an ass!
Any ideas on how to protest as I have a fixation with it,!
Im disputing currently with a neighbor.
We have semi detached garages. shared party wall. They bought and agreed with me about demolishing both as they were unsightly and had asbestos roofs.
Now im near taking mine down but hes decided to keep his which leaves me facing a 9 foot high wall about 8m long running down the side of my house and garden. Iv asked him to consider making it a pitched roof but hes a total idiot and says his builder says its the cheaper option to keep it as is.
Its going to kick off now tbh. They've not even moved in yet.

You're probably going to be thankful for that wall eventually, believe me. I've had real trouble with neighbours in the past, and I'd have loved to have the majority of my garden separated from theirs by a big wall.

Thanks Bungle but that's for permitted planning permission those guides if you have the land e.g. Big garden or front they add it all together we got ten objections in the area it's mad the owner is building a 100k extension using a loft as alleged storage a side extension on the boundary as storage and a wash room - the council say it's in planning permission as DC changed and relaxed the rules in 2013!
The measurements are wrong it's like beating your head against a wall they decide today a neighbor has only 3 minutes to talk against a coutdown clock!
