I have not seen the footage but heard on the radio the pitch invasions at Villa.

I obviously remember the famous Everton pitch invasions, Wimbledon, Southampton at Highbury, Latchford scoring his 30th goal but I have to confess I am not sure it belongs in the modern game.

Interested to hear the views of others.

The first pitch invasion happened 5/10 minutes before the end of the game. What's the point? What if the ref abandoned the game because he thought it was unsafe to continue? They'd have looked even more stupid then.

You could well be right, not PC now. It was, for some very rare occasions even patronisingly tolerated in the best Pathe / Mr Cumley-Warner style...usually at some hick town giant killing game, like Yeovil or Hereford.
