Just started watching the Battle of Chile last night actually, this whole episode fascinates me really. I'm not an expert and still reading up on it but it seems to me the lead up to the coup was in a way similar to what is happening in Venezuela (I could be way wrong on this TBF), i.e. huge polarisation between right and left, the right (industrialists and the elite) sabotaging leftist policies etc.
