Pienaar without Baines??

I'd say it's the other way around. Baines needs playing in behind often and there's no one in our team that can do it like Pienaar. He plays those difficult balls through defences that no one else sees and that other players wouldn't try better than anyone I've ever seen in the blue shirt.

Pienaar is still quality without Baines but looks less so because Baines' runs are perfect for a player like Pienaar to pick out.

I personally think it is bollocks, Pienaar is class in this Everton team with or without Baines.

In terms of the partnerships they are sublime but that has been built over a few years. Given a few games with another player you could easily see the same link up play.

Baines looked pretty good for that year and half Pienaar was at Spurs, like.

towards the end of last season when Baines was injured Pienaar was running games for us and we were destroying teams.

This

Two great players. Both can play without the other but they are very special when they are both on the pitch.....

and this...thread answered in the first two posts. it's not as if pienaar was a player nobody knew about him when he came, he'd played for ajax and dortmund, two mighty fine teams.

personally i think you can take the when bit out of the OP when you're talking about baines being sold. think he'll spend the rest of his career here, only a moneybags team like city would be able to take him and quite frankly he doesn't seem the type to want to be part of that environment

no doubt pienaar is a great player.
think they've got the saying mixed up tho... 'God is good, Baines is better'.

It's ridiculous to even comprehend how good Bainesyboy has been for Everton.

Opta: 'Leighton Baines has now scored 10 Premier League goals since August 2010, more than any other defender in that period'
Who Scored:'Leighton Baines: Has played more key passes (19) than any other player in Europe's top 5 leagues this season, ahead of Cazorla & Rothen (18)'
EPL Index:'Leighton Baines still heads the Creativity chart - 24 chances created this season. Cazorla (20), Lennon & Bale (15) and Silva (14) Top 5'
Speaks for itself.

We suffered without both of them last night. Pienaar did alright when he came on but the 2 complement each other so well. I hope Baines doesn't get an injury this season, he's boss.
