Player Valuation: £10m
Anyone else think these two could do with a break (on recent performances).

Osman is looking nackered and Pienaar (though less than Osman) is also floating in and out of games.

I don't buy it to be honest mate. I just think its a dip in form added to the fact that most teams just shut down our left hand side these days. They soon know if they don't.

I dont know if its the age thing. 12 months ago Pienaar just wanted the ball all the time. Now he seems to play for 25mins in the first half and 25mins in the second. Pretty similar with Osman inbetween they just float.

These two fully fit on form are probaby our most crucial players in terms of the midfield engine room.

....I'm not one for the rest theory. Form has ups and downs and one moment of brilliance can turn a player around. I do think there's an aura of gloom about the place following the Managers deccision to defer contract talks and failure to gain momentum in the transfer window. These type of events must impact performances on the field. The lads are only human.
I'm a huge fan of Osman and Pienaar, proper footballers with real talent.

Oviedo for Pienaar? Barkley for Osman?

I am one of a few who doesnt rate Oviedo at all tbh mate. In fact I prefer Naismith. I'm not saying Oviedo wont come good eventually, just at present he is ineffective, lacks a cutting edge. Naismith has a couple of goals to his name and I think he has a fantastic engine in him. I also liked his movement when he was finally given an opportunity to play next to Jelavic.

proper footballers dont give the ball away as much as these 2 do , sorry eggs

i agree - my team for Saturday would be:
Howard
Stones -- Jags -- Distin -- Baines
Gibson
Mirallas ---- Fellaini ---- Oviedo
Jelavic ---- Velios

our left has become too predictable and stoppable -
Baines can then concentrate on defending and stop us conceding most of our goals from his side -
have Pienaar and Ossie on the bench as a planB

I wonder if apathy sets in when you're guaranteed a first team place every game. Might explain how Pienaar is half the player he was last season when he was playing for a contract.

Osman definitely needs a rest, Pienaar as been picking up the last couple of games so he maybe getting his second wind for the latter part of the season.

But alot of our squad as shown signs of tiredness of late!.

You'd play Naismith on the left?
