I found it... slightly above average, but nothing more than that.

Like an upgraded version of one of those "made for TV" special feature films you see on Movie24 at 4pm.

Hanks is great in it though.

I was an extra at the 76ers game (watching a rookie named Shaquille O'Neal) during the filming. Saw Dr. J, Denzel and Jason Robards. Unfortunately, Tom Hanks wasn't in the scene.

tom hanks is ace in most everything he does. i love the opening credits with the title song

Plays out a bit like Cramer vs Cramer, and why can't a film about the illness not kill the hero? Besides that, fair due to Hollywood for addressing the problem nearly a decade too late. IIRC Stipe made a point (amongst many) at the MTV music awards. Great 'Boss' track too.
