Ridiculous that this is done when everything is still to be decided in the league, but hey. How on earth mane got in, i have no idea, he's missed half of the season.

Select your own team if you're as sad as me, from the link above.
PFA teams of the year: Chelsea and Tottenham dominate Premier League XI

Chelsea and Tottenham have both had four of their players named in the Professional Footballers' Association Premier League team of the year.

Defenders Gary Cahill and David Luiz and midfielders N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard are Chelsea's representatives.

Tottenham's quartet are defenders Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, midfielder Dele Alli and forward Harry Kane.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, Liverpool's Sadio Mane and Everton forward Romelu Lukaku are also picked.

The divisional teams of the year have also been announced ahead of the 44th PFA Awards, which are being held in London on Sunday, 23 April.

The PFA Players' Player of the Year and PFA Young Player of the Year will also be revealed at the event.

The votes were provided by PFA members from 100 clubs from the Premier League, Football League and Women's Super League.

My Team: I really couldn't choose between any of the chelsea defenders, so went with luiz. Half the season through De Gea was an easy pick, but he's not done anything in the second half. Not many great defensive options, so i plucked with 3 at the back.

so hold on, just gone through the PFA nominations for player of the year:

Men's PFA Players' player of the year nominees

  • Eden Hazard - Chelsea
  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Manchester United
  • Harry Kane - Tottenham Hotspur
  • N'Golo Kante - Chelsea
  • Romelu Lukaku - Everton
  • Alexis Sanchez - Arsenal

So two of the 6 candidates aren't included in the team of the year? And they've shoehorned the probably winner eden hazard to the right of their team of the year to put mane there, when alexis sanchez (a player who's been playing there this season) is a candidate for player of the season ahead of mane. Aren't all these things decided by the same people if they're PFA nominations and choices?

Its all done by players votes. No media or journalists involved I believe.
Think that teams about right imo, would have put Coleman in ahead of Walker though.

To be honest, Chelsea are the best team in the country and Spurs are the second best, so it makes perfect sense to me that they should dominate the line up

Chuffed we got a player on the list

As for Mane, when he's been fit he's been incredibly important to that Liverpool team, a team who will likely finish Top 4, so I can't really complain that he's in there

Could even put a shout for Victor Moses being in it somewhere. Christ knows how he's been so good and important this year, but he's done really well.

i did consider him in mine, just think walker has been a tad better playing in a 4, whereas moses has been in a 5. Hate walker and like moses though. I probably should have had alli in mine over siggurdson/eriksen tbf. Just looked at the stats on goals and assists, eriksen get's picked for more than that for me, but mane is way low down,i still don't understand how he's there.

exactly, but he's missed half of the season through ACON and injury and his stats are on par with somebody like defoe, just screams of "having to have a RS player in there", i mean he's not been as vital as ibrahimovic who's not on there and he's not been as good as sanchez (the 3rd top scorer in the league) who also misses out, both whom are actually up for player of the year and carried their teams. I think the way the RS play, they're not going to have many candidates for team of the year tbh.

I doubt he's missed half the season to be honest

A quarter maybe, but not half
