MOSHIRI OUT
See the buzz for this is starting now with Sky's 'pundits' naming their choices already. Mahrez dominating the Player of the Year selection, with some shouts for Harry Kane (bizarre) and some for Alderweirld, Payet, Vardy etc etc.

The young player is baffling me though. Dele Alli is getting most of the attention and his odds to win it are as short as 1/6! That is more or less a cert with them odds. I don't know why either, Barkley (20/1) has had a much better season and Lukaku (9/1) is still in the age bracket to win it.

Dele Alli - 39 games (all comps), 7 goals, 8 assists.
Ross Barkley - 36 games (all comps), 12 goals, 8 assists
Romelu Lukaku - 35 games (all comps), 23 goals, 6 assists

I know Spurs are doing well but surely if Lukaku wins the golden boot he has to get young player of the year?

.....I have been his worst critic but everything I asked of Barkley he's been consistently delivering this season. He'd be my choice over Alli. The main prize will be interest, Vardy comes into the reckoning but I think the the little midfielder from Leicester has been outstanding - think his name is Kante. Payet looks a class act too.

Heart says Ross, head says Alli, he's been outstanding at times this season in a way that has surprised me - yeah I know Ross has too, but I knew about him!

It would be hard to believe that we didn't have a dosier on him when we bought Galloway, his talent was well known. I'm assuming that the asking price (£6mill?) was too rich for us to take a chance on . Similarly with Dier. Shrugs, can't get them all, but I'm hoping that Mr Moshiri's money will enable a few £6-10'mill punts on young talent

I think Alli gets an extra boost by it being his first season, and how he taken to the league seamlessly.

Harry Kane got young player last year with 21 league goals, surely if Lukaku hits 25 he will be young player of the year?
no because spurs are top four/title contenders and we are 12th. that's why not.

edit: If Lukaku hits 25 league goals and/or 30 in all comps he'll probably get it, those kind of stats will be too hard to ignore.

Nailed it here, Barkley and Lukaku have been around for a few seasons and have progressed each year. Ali has come from virtually nowhere and has looked at home straight away.
