When I was v young had a hamster called Hammy (original, I know) and a dog called max. Both long gone now unfortunately.

Max was a female Dalmatian but wasn't always called max. Mum (presumably out of spite) had decided she would be called "Claris"

My dad, brother and me hated the name and when we took it to register for a local puppy training thing and they asked what she was called I shouted out the the first name that popped into my head "MAX!!"

Anything was better than Claris and it thankfully stuck.
