That was the league game back in Sept of that 1986/87, a 2-1 win for us, when it absolutely poured it down all afternoon. Some fans watched the game from out of the toilet windows!

I came up from Kent so knew it was a horrible day with the weather, I remember Everton fans who had travelled that day turning up in t-shirts and shorts.
 
Looking at his twitter timeline it looks like the interview and the transplant were done quite close together. I'd wager the interview was done soon after his transplant and he still had a light dressing on bis bonce, hence the hat.

I think @Reidy's Bottle Of Grecian should tweet him to confirm this !
thanks woolly. its a relief that he is not unwell. But he is sick. getting tgat colour lol
