To Cancel a 100 date tour means something horrific must be up. Family always comes first so my best wishes go out to him and his family.

To request privacy is fair enough, to expect privacy in today's climate with so much social media is another thing, for a reasonably young guy he has become somewhat of a national treasure and to cancel gigs with over 1M tickets sold is astronomical.
I hope his problems are overcome and he's back doing what he does best making us laugh sooner rather than later.

This news has not really surprised me. He always seems a bit of a Robin Williams type character to me - fun bubbly exterior but quite insecure on the inside. You never see Peter Kay being Peter Kay, even when he is interviewed he plays a part. I hope whatever has happened is fixable and he comes back.
