Who's_up_for_cumpkins?

Player Valuation: £10m
Don't think there's already a thread for this.

But thought it might be nice for people to share experiences and tips etc for the best footy game in christendom.

Yes fifa has the sparkly licences, but those who know, those who are chosen, born not manufactured, know Konami puts the best game of electronic footy, where it counts. On the digital green.

I'll kick things off.

I've played the game since the snes iss days, although I have lapsed to fifa once or twice (for balance I'd admit it's not terrible just always feels a bit on rails to me). I tend to play master league. I'm not really an online gamer In general. I have a young family so have to sneak gaming time where I can, so don't fancy getting pumped and screamed at by spotty teeneagers.

I think this year's version is the best yet. It feels very free and allows massive improvisation, although I do find tricks generally difficult. The player switching on defence is a bit iffy but I think with the correct tactics and approach it can be mitigated.

At the moment I'm halfway through season 1 with Everton. Got through Europa group and am 4th in the league. Approaching Jan transfer window. I'm keeping the transfers relatively realistic.

So I've bought ghoulam at left back to replace Baines, Laporte to partner Keane (left footed) and Bakambu and am training him to play target man, plus adding some much needed pace.

Tactically I'm setting up old school 442 thus:

Pickford
Coleman
Keane
Laporte
Ghoulam
Schneiderlin/gueye
Davies
Klaassen
Sigurdsson/rooney/Bolasie
Bakambu
Sandro

Obviously what works in a game wouldn't necessarily in real life.

Tactics wise I'm getting Good results (beat braga recently 7-2 on superstar) using counter attacking long ball, all out defence and allowing the players to have flexible positioning.

Anyway ramble over.

Please feel free to share, tactics, youth team wonder kid Master league buys or whatever, or just general thoughts on the Game, hint, tips.

Peace.

Was going to ask about editing.

Used to play PES back in the day when it was much much better than Fifa but lately I have been getting Fifa again. However I launched my Fifa 18 in the bin last night in a rage quit. (OK i took it back out again...I'm not stupid like..).

Is there an easy way to create your own option files? How much can I edit from them? Could I totally change the game for example? Even the licensed teams?

I'm still on pes 2015, but make realistic transfers as and when Everton do.
Wonderful version of the best game out there, but the stadia are a bit limited and stadium graphics awful. Game play, though is immense, almost making up for a few bugs in the programming.

I read that twice
And apart from one or two sentences I’ll have to admit I haven’t got a lovemaking clue what you are talking about.
It’s all gobbledygook to me I’m afraid
Never played a computer game of football in my life
Card games and super mario when the kids were young is about it for me

Ah the video games are for kids argument. the multi billion dollar industry that grosses more now than the movie business, which is populated and enjoyed by virgins, that never gets old..... :coffee:

You can create your own stuff but it's very laborious and to be honest the standard of the 'pros' in the community is immense.

Everything you need for ps4 including tutorials is on pes universe.

Essentially you download files put em on a USB and it corrects all the unlicensed team data in game.

If you have a good PC I'd Buy pes 2018 on that as people create the unlicensed stadiums and TV presentation overlays which you can't do on ps4. I think you can also tweak the AI on PC.

I starte with the default master league squad

Bought a fella called Isobe and Ignacio Camacho

Signed Filitzinho or whatever his name is from the youth side.

Play the following;

GK
RB----CD---CD----LB
------DMC-----
--------MC
MC------
RWF------------LWF
------SS
CF-----

Pace on the wings for the break, Giorza and Filtzaozinho attacking full backs, Ignacio Camacho as the DMC and auxhilary centreback when defending a break, Q. Arcas as the SS (or Niellendner at AMC when rotating).

Doing pretty well with the default team mostly so far, need defenders badly and a decent striker to replace Countinho who is no Castolo lets put it that way. I'll probably keep the fullbacks and Arcas (who is boss) for a few years yet.

Haven't had much time to play to be honest so I'm just about a season in, just about to start the testimonial for retirees. Finished second in D2.
