This.Whilst that is true, dont forget that much the same squad as he inherited (but without Alves) finished 19 points behind Real Madrid (and third behind Villareal) the season before he took over.

This.
You could say the same about virtually every manager. People will mention Mourinho winning the CL with Oporto. And while that was a tremendous achievment, he did inherit a great squad of players at the biggest club in Portugal (in modern times) and since then has had unlimited funds wherever he's goneWell, Messi's come a long way since then. He wasn't the best player in the world when Pep took over. A few others have matured too.
But quite simply, no one is trying to belittle his achievement. It's an astounding feat. I'm just wondering how he might do without the same resources. I mean, there's a difference between going to a club with a weak squad, turning it around and making them great, to walking in to a gold mine of talent, and unearthing it. He couldn't have utilised said talent any better, don't get me wrong, but it's a different gig to almost all other managerial ones.

I do see your point. And it's also relevant the fact that he was schooled there aswell and understands the philosophy perfectly. and it's why Bruce is so right when he says how the set up is tailor made for him. Would be interesting to see him somewhere else. Maybe he's interested in the challenge of testing himself in a not so perfect worldThat's fair, and true. But you see my point, no? Pep's literally got a perfect team. Every position is filled with genuine class. And he's got quality back ups, too.
In addition, it will be interesting to see if he can instill his brand of football on teams that haven't had it drilled into them since the age of 7.
Q: Would you be a better coach in England, as you would control more of what goes on at the club?
A. I don't want more responsibility. I've already lost my hair and got a bad back
Pep has said he's looking to get back in.,.,
But where can you see him?
