Peoples honest opinion - Ross Barkley

You shouldn't eat chalk. It will give you indigestion.

Steely unyielding resolve is something as a club we all should have. But you do not.

I think I can live with that, I suspect having steely unyielding resolve goes hand in hand with standing on your own at parties and writing letters to Points of View.

Don't want to think about him not being here. Let's just enjoy him for what he is: a superb talent and is going to be an outstanding footballer. I think he's good enough to make a meaningful contribution this season. Come on lad.

I'd be surprised if there isn't at least a shred of truth to the media rumours. I doubt if the media need to give Ferguson and his scouts any ideas, you can guarantee they are looking at Barkley.

Some people here seemed resigned to us not getting major investment in the short to medium term. It's essential that we do imo. Otherwise the vicious downward spiral of selling major talent and getting further into debt is likely to continue.

If we let our major talents go, such as Barkley, the Club is more likely to attract get-rich-quick investors/hedge funds rather than somebody who has a real passion for the Club and values its potential as a footballing force at least as highly as its marketable value.

If major investment doesn't come into the Club soon i would be surprised if other clubs don't make a move for Barkley in the summer, maybe even in January. He might not want to go at that point, but if he progresses and the Club continue to stagnate you could harldy blame him and others for wanting to leave in order to further their own careers. Can we really expect the likes of Baines, Cahill, Rodwell and Fellaini to stay for much longer unless they can see the Club moving forward rather than backward?

Of corse mate , it's a no brainer big talents want big money and big trophy cabinets at home , some people still confident of investment , I wouldn't bet a single penny on Kenwright selling up before 2014 myself , hope iam wrong mind :-(

More reports in this mornings rags - Fergie " Ross my Robbo"

I think we all know it's a matter of time he'll be gone , but seriously iam hoping to enjoy watching this lad now while I can , do people think we may get beyond this season even ? , considering we where in Debt when Rooney wanted out , he was sold , where now in even more debt , if Fergie gets on to his agent telling him what's in the paper - the new Robbo which Ross has the potential to be anything he wants it's inevitable surely , so how long do people honestly think we will get watching him ???:@

It's horrible, I'm actually scared to like him as he looks like he'll be too good for us, and that's horrible to say about Everton. Depends on his development but if he's consistently taking the piss like he's capable then I reckon we've got about three years max.

Stories like these are one of the reasons I am drifting further and further away from football after following EVERTON for over fifty years, last week their was a discussion on radio involving journalists saying how well ferguson had done to bring all his youngsters through namely ROONEY,SMALLING,JONES,Cleverly,Welbeck etc, well correct me if I'm wrong the first three where not his youngters. The media Tv,Radio,Papers are running FOOTBALL wether it is forcing transfers, arranging fixtures, sacking managers managers tapping up players using the media etc.
QUITE FRANKLY I'M GETTING SICK OF IT ALL.

Agreed mate, it f*cking stinks to high heaven how the media operate now. It's a constant aggravation to demean established clubs and to aggravate their best players to the clubs the media consider fashionable. They're in cahoots with [Poor language removed] scumbags of agents who are in the players ears looking for a pay day. The players wages need to be reined it, the media stop being put on a pedestal as they're blerts and agents needs severely bringing in. They've all contributed massively to the end of the working class game.

Physically and in terms of talent he has it all right now. Just like Rooney did. It's *only* decision making that he needs to progress on, and like all players that comes with time. When he starts showing he's a fast learner in that respect, I'd expect both Manchester clubs to be in with a decent valuation to test Everton's resolve. Of course, as has been said, if the Kenwright problem is sorted out then we might be able to keep this one.

Spot on. If were to keep him then we haven't got much time to change how this club operates and to give it some ambition.
