Announced that City have extended his contract to the end of the 2016/17 season... so Pep must be heading for Manure then when they dump LVG ?

He wont come to England, he knows he would get found out, he would actually have to manage a team.
He's a very good manager in many aspects, but I think you're right here. How much has Pep actually been challenged in his roles?

Barca were a wonderful side under his tenure, but tiki-taka was already there and he had a marvellous squad at his disposal. That helped.

Bayern have always been a powerhouse in the Bundesliga, he inherited a strong squad and Dortmund's recent slight demise has also helped.

Would he inherit such a talented squad with such dominance in English football? Doubt it. Would be a much harder challenge.

Regarding Pellegrini's new contract: strange one. Unless City strengthen soon they're arguably weaker than last season.

Will help Pellegrini assert more authority I reckon as players know he isn't off at the end of the season
Maybe so, but I think he'll be under a fair level of pressure within the first few months if City do not up their game or invest in some new players.

They have an ageing squad with a fair few mercenaries in there. That cannot be easy for a manager with owners who expect instant success.

Dzeko and Jovetic have gone, leaving only Aguero and Bony up front as Sterling is still a prospect and isn't the most able finisher.

Silva is a top talent, but if Yaya doesn't improve after a relatively poor season last year then it leaves an overly average and ageing squad.

Could be to help Pellegrini feel more comfortable rather than making the players respect him more...

why? he's done a truly woeful job there imo. won the league by default really with liverpool letting it slip. his signings have been abysmal and look at their strikeforce compared to previous years.

I love you guys; you could make yourselves believe anything. Never mind Champions League titles, domestic league titles, has never been to Scunthorpe on a wet Tuesday night and he has never even got a team to the final of the League Cup. He's a right tube.
