Any little pearls of wisdom that you think are worth passing on to the kids? I'm not talking about the deep and meaningful big life messages. I'm thinking more of the smaller, nitty gritty trivial stuff.
Here's a few of mine:-
+ Always check that there is toilet paper before you start.
+ Make sure the Christmas lights still work before you put them up (grrr)
+ Never trust anyone driving a car who is wearing a hat of any sort.

Try at school kids. The ones who tried got good jobs and the ones who didn't became drug dealers and fast food workers.
Are you sure the percentage of good students getting a good job is that high? School has very little influence on life. I've seen many people who are poor at school doing great professionally. Self-education is the best education, people don't need schools for that, schools only provide a slight advantage in getting through the barriers society has put upon us, that's all, nothing more, nothing less.

My own experience mate. guys that went to college and uni got those equivalent types of jobs. Bank managers at 26, Accountants, law firms etc people who didnt try and thought that was funny to coast through life have either become macdonald workers or drug dealers in some capacity. Hell one guy i know has a supervisor in mcdonalds that is his 5 year younger sister!

Depends what you mean by "professionally". The traditional professions are closed off to anyone who doesn't have the necessary GCSEs, A-Levels and degrees...

I guess I'm a bit too ambitious, but "bank managers", "accountants", "law firms" never really attracted me, I see them as rather controlled, very restricted and too safe. Hence, I guess my point of view or perception is different from you guys.

I think the point of view that "school has very little influence on life", came to me because I have seen very little influence of school on the people I admire and rather look up to. People like Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, or even my uncle who's now a millionaire, or the CEO of the company where I did my bachelor thesis, they barely or didn't at all complete their college education.
