Right new problem now......

When I'm typing, the backspace is working on it's own and deleting stuff.

So looks like it's coming back to life. But when i press it, it's still now working. Hopefully the prob is sorting it's self. Think there might be a bit of sugar in the stork or under it. Hoping it will fukk off soon. Think i might put it in a shop to be sorted. Everything else is fine.

Sounds like you've got INSERT or OVERTYPE switched on, that makes you type over everything, deleting what was there previously. Backspace isn't a delete key (unless you go to the end of the line and press it to delete what you have written), you have probably got a DEL key somewhere.

Get the sawdust on it lad.

It'll be dry after two days, so it's probably the the sugar content of the WKD has made it tacky. It prob will need cleaning underneath. How you get the top plate off, as GSG says, I don't know either.

Happened to my laptop too last week. but have the a,z,x,c,f,m , . @ keys not working so looks like a total new laptop keyboard for me Think i'll steer clear of acer though in future as 2nd one that ended up broken. Dells I had before a lot more robust

Been using the on-screen keyboard since which is depressingly unresponsive, especially on forums
