Paul Ince sacked as Blackpool manager

Paul Ince is a woeful manager. His attitude, by the sounds of things, stinks the place out, and how is that a good example to the players? Clearly had a detrimental effect on his son too.

Accusations of racism in 5...4...3...2...1...

Don't think so. Most observers can recognise he's lost his mojo.

A mojo he did appear to have for a short while when managing MK Dons.

That GIF of his tactics notes "shoot ffs!" didn't help.

In terms of the debate as to why there are so few black managers in the 4 leagues: how many black players are currently active for the 92 clubs? And how many black managers do we have? Is the ratio really off?

Whatever happened to the promising 'first black' premier league manager?

I don't think Ince is a good manager by any means but i think he has been unlucky this time round. HE had next to no money to spend last summer and watched his best players bar his son leave. I remember reading about him trying to get a squad of players together on the cheap and all of a sudden they are struggling? Anyone who works at blackpool has a tough job, only holloway has brought success and that was on the basis of an all out attack approach!

Time for Ince to disapear for a few years again before appearing at Wolves.

aye, that's him.

be interested to see the stats: black league players vs black league managers.

I'd guess that we have about 15% black players and about 3% black managers. So there is a discrepancy which is worth talking about.

Personally mate I just think if you're good enough, you get the job.

Winds me up when everything has to be about race.he isn't getting the sack because he is black, he's getting the sack because he's not very good at his job. Why should a team give a manager a job purely because of his colour?

It's like me having to give disabled people interviews even though they aren't capable of doing the job I expect them to do. I should be able to employ whom I see fit regardless (I'm not calling being black a disability by the way - although that's basically what Barnes is saying with his managerial racism propaganda)

But there was a far lower percentage of black players when the current crop of managers were playing, so using current playing stats isn't really a very useful guide

I'm just pointing out the ratio gap between players and managers. So your reason for that would be that they're not good enough?

Maybe there's just a lack of applicants.

Good point. Be useful to see some stats on it.
