Passports. Any one applied recently and have had to cancel a holiday as a passport hasn't arrived?

Applied two weeks ago today for babies first passport, (just over seven week pre-holiday). Both British passport holder parents, British child. Obviously hearing media/passport services saying 10 weeks for passports. What's the chance of getting it in time, if any of you have applied recently.
No emergency appointments. Filled in online enquiry forms-no response, on line chat states busy, phoneline just says they're busy and hangs up. Crapping it. Waited years to go on holiday, given grafted through the pandemic.

The service is being understaffed and underfunded by our government so when it suggests privatisation all the angry Mail, S*n and Express goons think its the only solution.

I got mine on Saturday, submitted on the 16-Apr. Did the online thing by uploading my own photo etc. cost £177 though.

The May date was the only one available for Liverpool collection, otherwise I would have had to go Belfast just to collect.

Loads of people outside when I went to collect it though, that was at 10am

I know a few people who have had to cancel trips lately because of this issue. I know it's more expensive but the express option is worth considering if you have an upcoming holiday.

I know a few people who have had to cancel trips lately because of this issue. I know it's more expensive but the express option is worth considering if you have an upcoming holiday.

No available appointments for 1 week passports. I think they've put a hold on them all.
