Passive 3D TV, or an Active 3D TV... Which is better?

What gives me the best picture for films, not interested in anything else - quality only, budget is about £1k preferably inc a Blu ray w/ surround sound kit

I personally think 3D is naff, but it means it's a fab time to get a TV that doesn't have 3D for peanuts! LED uses far less electricity, but Plasma offers deeper blacks.

I went for an LED my self, cheaper electricity bills, and no 3D! I watch 3D movies all the time with my cinema pass, and I'm really not that fussed on it. The odd film has a funny five minutes where you think 'ooooh cool', but for the most part you don't even notice it.
