Player Valuation: £50m
Its been said that if everton move 'out of the city boundary' that future generations wont follow the blues and will eventually be drawn in by the black widows web of the kopshites.

Having thought about it, what effect does the current stadium have on support? I put it to you that actually going to the game as a kid with family or friends is a big part of a supporters 'career' and ties into the loyalty and the magic that keeps supporters coming back, for the game, the atmosphere, the total match day experience.

Goodison is severely limited, obstructed views and third world facilities (toilets, refreshments, access to and from the stadium) all count against fans going.
A new stadium where ever would allow a bigger family enclosure.

A part of the arguement is that we dont sell Goodison out as it is, but we go to the match for the game, and if a foot wide pillar is blocking your view of a goal mouth, how long before that novelty wears thin with anyone, let alone a child/minor.

If we get a 55k all seater (hopefully meaning slightly more leg room and slightly more width) then hopefully the club will see sense and cut ticket prices making us one of if not the cheapest ticket price in the premier league.

Prices can rise incrementally, but a commitment to the family area as well as students and oaps would really enforce the 'peoples club' image.

I have said it before, best to fill the stadium at £15 a head than have it half full at £30 - because 55k will eat more pies, crisps, and get through more pints. (oh and that isnt an invitation for wembley-esque pricing - £8 a burger indeed)

Good post. loads of good points, maybe increase child places/prices?

just something fair, hook the youth and keep them coming back, they are the players and fans of the future. (garlic bread!)

anyway, 55k, does that include corporate? and what exactly is the corporate 'solution'?

We should definitely have a student price ticket. £33 a time for me is bloody expensive, even more so when I go to Uni and will actually have to fund my visits out of my own back pocket.

You make some very good points in that post Suits. The Family Enclosure is alright at GP, but as you say at a new stadium we could have a much bigger one. We still need to keep the atmosphere special though. As a kid going to watch Everton I was drawn in by the amazing atmosphere of the matches. We beed to find a way of maintaining that. I think an important part of having a good atmosphere is having a definative section of the ground where the 'hardcores' sit (ala the Gwladys St.). Apprently one of the main reasons why the atmosphere is so [Poor language removed] at Man City is because there isn't a particular section like this.

Well £15 won't even get you into Prenton Park or Chester most games. There is no way the tickets are going to be cheaper in a new stadium, if anything they will be more expensive.

dunno about cooporate figures

my dad took me as a kid. probably about 10 before he stopped lifting me over the barrier

ive got 5 kids, managed to take older 3, but really want to take my little lads.

the kids are the future, get that right and i believe all else will follow

Well, to all those hoping for foreign investment remember that any such investor will milk you the fans, BK has managed to keep us as cheap as possible in a way no foreigner would.

We used to have the old boys pen where dads would drop their lads off before the game whilst they went off to another, more expensive, part of the ground. The pen was simply that, a couple of thousand lads crammed into one section at the back of Gwladys St, wired in and left to run wild. Whenever we scored there was no where in GP than I'd rather be than the pen, it was immense. Whether or not something could be arranged on similar lines, but in accordance with modern health and safety, in the new pace I don't know but the pen made many life long blues...................any ex penners on this board?????
