Mourinho just said it to deflect attention away from the fact his team failed to score at home to a bottom of the table side. He probably admires it really.

That and the fact that that sort of comment does put pressure on other teams not to play so negatively. A minor thing but nobody wants to be seen as some sort of dinosaur and a way of avoiding such charges is to play a more expansive game.

If you think about it there should be no reason any team in the bottom 8 should go to the top 4 and play any other way (that the West Ham/Cheslea way).

Blackpool and Palace under Holloway looked good but the former went down and the latter would've joined them, under Pulis they could get their highest points total in the top flight for two decades or so.

Also Porto won their CL with the most negative football of this century.
