Parking at Liverpool Echo Arena?

Anyone ever been? I'm going this weekend (Bruce, keep quiet on the event ), wondering whether its worth the drive or to pay robbing taxi drivers (Yeah I'm looking at you Chris ). Dont fancy driving around town in its current 'big dig' state, followed a diversion for mount pleasent car park the other day and it was just a continuous circle

Long shot but does anyone know what the parking is like for the echo arena on the night of an event?
