Park End vs Lower Gwladys 'beef'??

Our main end was always the Gwladys Street. You'd have the Street End Skins, or the Street End Bootboys. Not a firm as you think of today, but you'd have a couple of thousand skinheads going in the North Bank taking their end, singing non stop in there famously in69, took the stretford end in66, that went on to the mid 70s when segregation improved. Park End had a great era of around 5 years at the end of the 70s, so we had 2 great vibrant areas. The wall went in in 80 I reckon it lost a bit then, I think around 83 the Park End went exclusively to away fans so the left over Park Enders went the Enclosure. The Enclosure went to the family enclosure abound 87 so they went the Paddock. The St End has been a constant for years where as the Park End had a limited life span but two great areas in their heyday, you can throw in the Boys Pen there too.

Interesting insight. You won't find this sort of info on Wikipedia!

From what I've gathered...the atmosphere at Goodison has been dogsh*t for time...in almost every stand.
Had a season ticket in 98/99 99/00 in the main stand - thought it was decent tbh considering the standard we were then. Since then just been going random matches in upper/lower bullens; park end; lower Gwladys; main stand. Everyone just constantly moans and only attempts half-ass chants.

Never been top balcony.

However, In all my time, nobody had beef with any other stand at the time...and I've been Old Trafford when they've all been openly slagging off the Streford end for not making enough noise - that was cringe!

Did we ever take the Shed (heard 1970) or stands at places like Upton Park? And did anyone successfully take the Gwladys?
To answer the question, without developing it into a 'hooly' thread here goes ---- I was at the mid week game at Upton Park in August 1968 (when they had the 3 players who won the world cup on their own, and Harry Redknapp!) ... we spanked them 4 -1 & it was a stroll. Being midweek in those days we had support but not in big numbers & we were all in the South Bank. During the game attention was distracted due to the Mets finest repeatedly wading in to the West Ham fans on the North Bank and lobbing them out - no idea why. After the final whistle we left the ground to be confronted, for the first time in my experience, by a pack of West Ham skins ... managed to swerve them (I was 15). Never really saw any Everton fans on their North Bank in that era, although TV did record 1 Everton fan invading the pitch during an FA Cup game in the early 60's and having an altercation with the law.
Was at Chelsea for the 69/70 league game & the Charity Shield game at the start of 70/71 - didn't go in the Shed & don't think many others did either. Some may have been in there but now I have no recollection. It was around this era that going to away games was becoming more tricky for the obvious reason.
Nobody ever entered the Street End in those days (except tolerating reds for Derby matches) ... the exception being the Millwall cup tie in 1973. They tried to enter via the turnstiles in Bullens Road, but didn't get far, so I was told!!

Leeds few others as well had a visit mostly before my time.
In the ST End Millwall tried , didnt end well loads stabbed none left after about five minutes of the coming into the terrace.
I was right in the middle of it aged about 10 sitting on a barrier, not something you will ever forget.
Rangers had couple of fellas come in and the kids in the st end ran, older Everton fans legged them up to the upper st end stand steps and booted them all the way back down again think one got hit with something as he was in a bad way as i went passed again only a kid ,ran all the way home as I was a bit shocked to say the least.
Later on Leeds came in early doors got ran out as quick as the came in, got into the parkend and the st end ran across the pitch at them , they had to get out of there quick and ended up on the paddock that was three ends of are ground they had been in and it still wasnt 2 oclock.
Later on Everton have been in WBA early 80,s Leicester, Coventry, wolves and a few others but the coppers threw then out sharpish.
Think the parkend only had a more youthful following around the late 70,s early 80's , then paddock, then enclosures, even early 80s the coppers wouldnt let some of the lads in the parkend , hence we started to go in the paddock, and it became the place to be in the pecking order at the time it was st end, parkend and the paddock top of the places to be seen.
ST End has been the younger vibrant bit of the ground other than say 78 to 83.
Parkend best view but I miss the upper st end stand, me and jaycee off here had two cracking seats, as it still had a bit of atmosphere while having a decent view think thats my favourite bit of the ground .

Park End all the way, I go to a football match to have a pleasant day not rub shoulders with petrol sniffing, rabies infected scallys in the Gwladys Street.
