Apparently Italian Christmas depends on where in the country you are.

Most of Europe celebrates on the 24th I think. Santa, as we know him, comes on the 6th December (St Nicholas' Day) and is accompanied by an angel and a devil (who is often blackfaced, which is marginally awkward). The presents on Christmas are "brought" by baby Jesus, which I'm not sure makes a huge amount of sense. Did I mention they get pissed a lot?

In Catalonia they have a log that defecates gifts rather than St Nick. I sh/t you not.
