Afternoon Lids,
I know about and have seen some of the great work done by Everton in the Community and Palace have a similar organisation; Palace For Life which reaches out to some of the most underprivileged young people, families and groups in South London. One of the main fundraisers is an annual Marathon March; 26.2 miles from Selhurst Park to Trafalgar Square (not the direct route!) and this year me, former Palace and Everton legend (ok, Palace legend) Andy Johnson and hopefully a hundred or so others will be doing it and I'd be really grateful if you would consider sponsoring me. I'm also doing it to "celebrate" fifty years of watching Palace (first game October 5 1968) and after that lot, it's about time something good came out of it. to I know we're only walking and some show offs can run it in twenty minutes but I'm 62 and I've had a liver transplant so walking it is. These days I only walk as far as the remote for the TV and feel like I need Oxygen once I've got to my seat in the Upper Holmesdale. I've started training and did 13.8 miles this morning so I'm taking it seriously. Anything you could spare would be very much appreciated. Please donate here; https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/David-Kemp14
Would it be possible for a Mod to make this a sticky please? Ta Lids. C'mon Blue.

I did the Shine night walk round London last year which was 26 miles, it was far harder than I expected it to be and the only advice I'd give is to not sit down at any stage, cos you'll struggle to get back up.

All the best with it mate and I'll sort out sponsorship when I'm home later.

Just a gentle nudge. The walk is this Saturday. I've been training and hope to complete, (blisters permitting).
Any sponsorship for this great football based community initiative gratefully received.;)

Completed;) Blimey that was hard and I'm shattered. Walked round part of the way with Andy Johnson. Top, top bloke. Did a little video for my Evertonian son. :)
Palace legend and memorable destroyer of the RS.
