that's the kind of attitude that will prevent the MLS from becoming a bigger league. Thankfully not everyone has that mindset here in the states.

I was quite into it about 2-3 years ago, but I'm not as interested in it now

Scottish Football is filling the space that MLS might otherwise fill. Same for The A League, which I keep meaning to try but never do

Plus, I'm more into NBA and NFL when it comes to America anyway. There's only room for so much sport in a mans life

He's optimistic, I'll give him that

Especially considering that I was sitting next to a lad from Oklahoma last night who practically scoffed at the idea of MLS. He'd rather fly to another country to watch a match than watch his own countries football league

Lucky you don't get to sit through the pro/anti MLS discussion at work like I do. I'm made up that I finally have a NASL team here in Jax - at season tickets for ten bucks a seat, such a deal! I'd fly to Goodison before I'd travel in the US just to catch an MLS match though, unless I just happen to be in town and somebody mentions there's a match. I'd be much more likely to go with a group.

US is full of "I don't watch MLS" snobs, though. True, that.

If I lived in a City with an MLS franchise and a sub-par or boring NBA/NFL team, I'd probably go watch the MLS side

Not that many places though

Toronto, Raptors way better than the MLS Franchise
LA, Clippers way more entertaining than The Galaxy and the Lakers have both Kobe and Lin in their ranks, so even though they currently suck there are at least box office
New York, no matter how awful the Knicks are, they're still the Knicks. Mello > Henry

Portland and Seattle at least don't fall into that sort of category I suppose
