Overhyped Players

Just thinking of some of the most overhyped players to make it to the Premier League.

Amongst my favourites are:

Steve Marlet - I think Fulham paid ten million for him.

Jozy Altidore - I've honestly not seen a worse forward.

Alexi Lalas - was meant to be boss but got his arse raped by average attackers

Veron - huge muck up by United that.

And one that was linked with us but didn't make it - Michael Bradley. Close shave that.

You?

At the top end of things.. allegedly - Suarez - rated 3rd best in the world by some, but not by everyone who writes for a living.. obviously he's very good but not as good as those who deserve to be mentioned in the top 3-4 in the world.

El Hadji Diouf
Cheyrou
Heskey
Kewell
Morientes
Sissoko
Crouch
Pennant
Babel
Riera
Keane
Dossena
Aquilani
Meireles
Coates
Downing
Adam
Henderson
Carroll
Allen
Aspas

Veron was a top player, just didn't suit english football and had the wrong manager for him. There were some games that he was immense though, that 4-1 win over us at OT in 2001

Theres a group of players not called messi or Ronaldo that can be put in as the next best (suarez, aguero, zlatan, bale, iniesta), so wouldn't say he's overhyped like others mentioned here. And the OP looks more like a list of most overpaid players/big transfers that didn't live up to their fee (not necessarily the players fault)

Beckham. (one trick pony)

Lampard a close second and the rest labelled "the golden generation".

Presently Wilshere, De Gea and Joe hart.
