Not good enough imo.

Coleman gets all the rave reviews on this site and to me he is way short of a top 6 midfielder.....way way short. Apart from "flashes" of attacking brilliance what else does he offer? His defensive abilities are terrible.

Awful finishing infront of goal.....one on one....wigan at home, (theres another forgot who) games we could have won
Absolutely shocking passing in dangerous areas of the pitch.....i.e our own half
Closeing down non exsistant.....
The ability to leave his right back open to numerous attacks.....
Poorly timed challenges in the box...which would easily have led to a penalties...cole/chelsea away. Nolan/newcastle home

The lad for me is far far from the finished article and for him to hold down his position in the side shows me the reason why we are where we are in the table.

Do we want to be a top 6 side? Yes ofcourse we do. But ask yourself this....Would Coleman get in the top 6 sides in this league... United...no. Arsenal.no.. Chelsea.no.. Tottenham..no..Man City..no.. Liverpool..no.. he just wouldn't get "anywhere" near their first 11.

The lads undoubtedly got something....but he isn't ready and in my opinion never will be ready to compete at the very very top level, where we want to be.

I do not blame for one minute one player being the main course of our ****e season, but I believe he contributes to it. The shocking defending I have witnessed from our back four (mainly the centre halfs) and our lack of goals. Is the other.

But please, even though in him I have seen some fearless attacking, for me he is raved about far too much.

Coleman is suffering from the Rooney disease.

He came in with a bang, no fear, trying to take people on, delivering balls in, and getting on the scoresheet...

Now he's played a few good games, he's stopped taking the game by the scruff of the neck and lost the hunger...

shame really.

I don't think he's lost his hunger , I think he needs to be given a rest , he's only a young lad , maybe some time on the bench and then bring him on and then you will see the player play again.

Maybe he does indeed need a rest.

I just want him back to his best though...

think your right there played an awful lot of games for a kid fresh to the prem, bound to look jaded, saying that we have only played about 21 players all season, taking into account that some have been injured or only bit part players, the first team as a whole looks jaded

Really, two games ago in the FA Cup he was running circles around the league's proclaimed outstanding leftback for the past 3-4 years. When the whole team decides to not show up for a game I'd be really surprised if the newest addition to the first team was the one to go ahead. We desperately needed a solid performance from the back 4 and the holding midfielder, but we got Fellaini who threw every other pass away after having carried us from the mid of the park for several weeks and both Johnny H and Distin showed Yobo-like lapses of concentration..

We've currently got a right back and a series of central midfielders playing on the wings. Is anybody really surprised that we are not excelling in that area?

He's the instigator for an Everton victory in some of the games he plays in. I'd really be focussing my attention elsewhere other than Coleman. His overall contribution is enough to justify his inclusion. He'll be poor then he'll be good. When you have no competition for places this is tolerable.

He needs resting its his first season. The club is a shambles if we expect a kid just plucked from the irish league to play every game and not in his preferred position its like we have gone back to the seventies.

He'd be in my time every week if I'm honest. But i'd still work closely to get the best out of him, whether that be having a rest, or motivation...

Can someone tell me why Gueye can't get a game??

Moyes is afraid he'll get massive amounts of flak over his name?
He looked good in pre-season but I wonder what Moyes hopes he'll be able to do in the Bily-substitutions that he gets. 3-4 mins in added on time is not really a lot when asked to make a contribution..

He's the best we have in that position right now. He's also the only player in our entire squad with the pace, skill and confidence to take a player on. Most teams are paying him a lot more attention now, which is a nod to the fact that opposition managers are aware he came be dangerous if given enough space. His final ball and his positional play need improvement but, as we all know, he's had relatively little professional coaching. He should improve in that respect.

Very few wide players have done anything this season. Aside from Bale and Nani (who, despite both having good campaigns have both been kept quiet by certain middling full backs in the last few months), Coleman's one of the few players to produce three or four excellent displays. He also has a great attitude, which is something we're not seeing from many of our first team right now.

havnt seen a lot of him, but the bits i have very like big vic, worth ago nothing ventured nothing gained, but cant see him doing a lot at present

He's got a fair bit of pace, he's athletic, has a good touch, flair and a lovely left foot, be it passing or shooting.
He's about a far away from Big Vic as I've seen to be honest!
