Player Valuation: £500k
I have been watching Everton since Bobby Collins was playing for us, and we have had some good great and hopless managers in that time, but I have never seen a manager like Moyes who tells everyone who he wants watches other clubs snap up the people he wants then panic buys in the last day or two, What the hell is going on is the money not avaiable at the end of the season if so why talk to players when he knows he cant do anything, dont get me wrong hes a shrewd manager picking the likes of arteta cahill and lescot, and pinnar, but i think the players are now looking at the likes of spurs, city, and others because
we all know we are about three or four players short of a great side, but last season he lets johnson go this season lescot, its not the way forward its two steps back.:o

We had to sell Lescott for 24 mill. Good price when we know that Traore cost City 18 mill. We got 3 very good players for Lescott, thinking that is good business. Think we have a better squad than last reason.

as I said in my original statement Moyes has made some great signings
and the team has done well, but you arnt going to get further if you got to sell your best assets i.e Johnson & Lescot its the deadwood you should offload to replace with better players, to challenge the top four,
and i was asking why moyes can only buy in the final week of the transfare market, it always seems like panic buys,

We sold AJ since he wasn't first pick when we got Yakubu, so there we sold one player just to get a better one. Lescott though we got a slightly worse player for, but we managed to get 2 other players in that will improve our team... hopefully.

Regarding Moyes transfers... my guess it's down to the board not being able to secure enough funds so Moyes can spend money early. I somehow do think they secured a little for him, but not enough for him to be able to buy players good enough to go into our starting 11.

The first XI is arguably improving but the overall squad seems to be diminishing. If we ignore the kids who left & joined this summer, we have lost Castillo, Jacobsen, Lescott, VDM & Valente & replaced them with Bilyaletdinov, Distin & Heitinga - one could argue that's an overall improvement in quality but the lack of numbers is concerning. Especially as we don't know how well 2 of these signings will adapt to PL football & we are still awaiting the return of 4 injured players to bolster the squad. Mind you, I think it shows that Everton is the club to come to if you're an ambitious young player!

Longest sentance ever.

Johnson effectively was dead wood. He was bachup for us and we got £13mil for him. That's great business. Lescott was one of our best players, but we are not in the position to turn down Man Silly money. The last 'best asset' we sold before that was Rooney I think.

Personally I hate the term 'panic buys'. Tbh I don't know how long we were looking at Felliani before we bought him, and obviously that was a rush job, as were the transfers this summer, and certainly not first choice, but that doesn't make it a panic buy. Imo that term does Moyes and our scouting staff too much of a disservice :(
