Is this our strongest ever Premier league squad?

It's this....

Plus Sandro, Pickford, Barkley and Mori (if we must)

Gareth Barry says it's the strongest he's seen...

I know this is relative to the time and opposing squads.

Would you say it's our strongest PL squad, with more to come?

I actually think it could be. Having said that I think it could be next year we start worrying a few teams above. The younger lads need to earn their places and force the seniors out of the starting 11 rather than them being dropped for being bang average and the young lads given a go.

Sandro is going to open a few eyes both at the club and opposing teams.

Probably not quite yet. Slightly behind the 09 period. But with a couple more in we could be looking at a better squad.

This was the team from the semi final that year:

Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Lescott, Baines, Osman, Neville, Fellaini (Vaughan 102), Pienaar, Cahill, Saha (Rodwell 70).

Subs Not Used: Nash, Yobo, Castillo, Jacobsen, Gosling.

I think what we have now is stronger, the starting defenders from that team were better though.

I've got my year slightly wrong I think. The team I meant was with Arteta.

This is by far the strongest squad we've had since the mid 80's. Problem is that the teams around us are similarly strong or stronger. If we get in gylfi, French hunk and another CB then we are up there with everyone else imo.

Hopefully Sandro might turn into something extra special for us and we have that 20 goal striker which should see us into the top 4 as a minimum. Time will tell.

People are underestimating what rooney brings to this team both external to everton and some of our own confused lovelies.

The most optimistic I have been in premier times with a huge talent bed from the u23s to access if needed too. Come on blues let's shed the negativity. We have a better squad than Leicester did and look what happend there. Let the good times roll. Positivity breeds positivity. :celebrate:

I think this season we'll be able to look at who's on the bench without reacting like this.....
