I hope so too mate. So many times these types of abusers go on to reoffend.

As a solicitor i do despair at how badly the criminal side of things operate sometimes.

Then again, should we be surprised after the Bulger killers and Maxine Carr got released with a fresh start?

Surprised,annoyed,angry it doesnt make any difference public opinion means nothing to these people,worse sentences get
handed out for theft than for crimes like this
 
I always laugh at hackneyed tabloidisms. 'Quietly released' ffs! What were they expecting a national advertising campaign and a jamboree to commemorate the occasion?
 
TBF its not the justice system thats at fault, its successive governments who insist on talking tough in terms of crime* but who refuse to pay for the increased number of prison spaces that would be required to actually carry out the sentences that are imposed.

* though not crime that they or their chums commit, of course
