I tell you what.

I don't know if Everton fans are guilty of the crimes mentioned in the thread title......but a Martian reading these forums would readily agree we are the most self loathing :(

There cannot possibly be another football forum where so many contributors hate their co-supporters, their players, their manager and their board of directors.

OK.....I can go with hating the board of directors....;)

Except Bill.....he is a hero again :)

Wish we could bottle the atmosphere of our away support and transplant it to our home support. Had a big smile on my face when the fans were singing the Z Cars melody during the Barnsley match. Imagine 35,000 fans singing this at Goodison Park.

Just watch that stadium rock come September 12th, my friend.....:)

The rent boys won't know if they are Arthur or Martha.

If you took the 35,000 on a pre game trip by coach, train and car for a good few hours. Ply them with ale beak and a singsong and whallop! There's your atmosphere.

I like how this was posted right before thousands and thousands travelled 80 miles to Barnsley to watch us play in a round of a competition that we didn't even have to play in last year, in a cup we've never won, that was on Sky Sports 1, after a pretty grim summer, average start to the season and were still roaring them on at 2-0 down.

What awful support ffs.

Due to very poor health I haven't been able to go to any games this season so I can't comment on the fans this season, but I see the point being made. I completely agree, however I think it only really started towards the end of Moyes times at Everton and when Martinez took control. I remember the days at away games and derby games when random strangers would hug you after we scored. I remember the derby game in 2009, when despite losing 2 0 all you could hear was our fans singing. Nowadays when we go a goal down a lot of fans just give abuse to the players which isn't helping anyone. I remember the quality banter at away games, the funny shouts that would have you in stiches for most of the game. I remember when we were playing Arsenal and Howard Webb was the ref, Webb made a bad decision and some fella shouted "you effin baldy t**t just as some 6ft 6 17 stone bald fella was coming in had everyone in stitches. I haven't had a season ticket in the LGS since the 2010/2011 season but I've been told a lot of the more vocal fans no longer sit there anymore.

Great post. Get well soon mate

I think some of what the OP said is true. It's a lot more enjoyable to be at the games when we're all on the same page and getting behind the players which we were in the second half at Barnsley. Usually I am critical of us sitting down in silence away from home but that first half effort from the players didn't deserve any backing and for once I think them being booed off was spot on. Second half though when Martinez made the right changes and we were attacking the end with our fans in, the support was great. I reckon we played a big part as fans in spurring the players on to Victory on Wednesday. Huge following and supportive of the players when they needed it.

Of course, all of that got missed in the Mirror, Express and Daily Mail as to them, one fan speaks for 4,200 Evertonians lol.

Our fan base is made up of really good lads and knobs, same as every other fan base. The only difference is that ours wear a really cool blue and none of that red/black/sky blue/yellow/strippey crap, and they tend to come from Liverpool...........

That couldn't have been said any better;)

I honestly love Everton's fans. It's the main reason I became an Everton supporter. And, as much self loathing goes on here, Evertonians (at least those on this board) have a great sense of humor. Is that a scouser thing? (this coming from a non-scouser)
