micknick

Player Valuation: £70m
Just saw John Collins on sky and it got me thinking about our best ever scottish player. We've had a few so here goes:

Weir
Hutchinson
Naysmith
Collins
Ferguson
Gough
Mcfadden
Cleland
Gemmil

My vote goes to Weir, he was a great servant for us and is still playing for his country.

Collins was a good player though, and it was a shame he wasnt with us longer. He could play.

What do you reckon?

You missed the top two. Young and Sharp.

EDIT:Was just reading Young's Wikipedia page and listen to what Danny Blanchflower said when he coined Young's nickname.

In his words, it conveyed "the view every Saturday that we have of a more perfect world, a world that has got a pattern and is finite. And that's Alex – the Golden Vision.")

Can you imagine a modern-day footballer saying that?

Interviewer : 'Would it be fair to describe you as a volatile player?'
DAVID BECKHAM : 'Well, I can play in the centre, on the right and occasionally on the left side.'

its difficult because there is such variety in the positions, for me

ferguson
gough
hutch

gough helped weir become such a good centre back, and hutch was a favourite because he could mix it.

Duncan for his cult status and thr big game goals. But for me Sharpy.
Dont mind McFadden, hes capable of the unexpected, and can score important goals.
