I take it that you are leaving out players like Baxter, Rodwell and Barkley as they are U21 and dont need to be registered. Its not great when you think about it but we do have some talented youngsters.

Guaye and Vellios too.
Include Baxter, Rodwell, and Barkley (that lukecrossland mentioned) and we're up to 23 players all VERY LIKELY to see time this year.

Still plenty of other young-un's working their way up too like Bidwell, Dier, Garbutt, Hammar, Mustafi, Forshaw, Wallace, and McAleny. (not to mention guys like Duffy out on loan).

Sure, it's a squad that is short on first team experience, but there is a lot of potential here still.

If, by chance, we qualify for the Europa league then some serious spending will need to take place just to ensure that we can compete whilst retaining our Premiership status.

The squad we have now will manage for this season, but that is all.

Everton's 25 man squad - 2011/2012.

Everton announced their 25 man squad yesterday, it's as followed:

Anichebe, Baines, T Cahill, Hibbert, Jagielka, Neville, Osman, Bilyaletdinov, Coleman, Distin, Fellaini, Heitinga, Howard, Mucha, Saha, Yobo, Drenthe, Stracqualursi.

Although there is only 18 names on there the squad is propped up by the home grown/under-21 players as you can have as many of these as you like. So that means Rodwell, Barkley, Vellios and so on will still be included.

Also interesting to see Yobo in there, he isn't going anywhere till January at least.

Note: This squad will be updated after the January transfer window as clubs only have to announce the squad used until January.

Still a chance he'll go on Monday. I expect him to, tbh.

Here's the rules too for anyone that doesn't know them;

The rules: Each club's 25-man squad should have eight homegrown players who - regardless of age or nationality - spent three years (or a total of 36 months) in the youth system of a club in England or Wales before they reached the age of 21.

Contrary to reports elsewhere, players aged under 21 can, if required, be named in the 25-man squad as a homegrown player. An Under-21 player is defined as being born on or after January 1, 1989.

Clubs can use an unlimited number of Under-21 players in addition to their 25-man squad. For instance, Chelsea would not need to name Daniel Sturridge and Arsenal Jack Wilshere in their 25-man squad.

Any player who is left out of the 25-man squad will only be eligible to play in the Carling Cup until January 1. From January 1 to January 31, clubs can make unlimited changes to their 25-man squad. On February 1 a new 25-man squad must be named to run until the end of the current campaign.

If a club chooses fewer than 25 players for their squad it is almost certainly due to them having a large number of under-21 players. Clubs with fewer than 25 players in their squad are still permitted to sign free agents.

Err...I hate to be the bearer of bad news...but you Poms can't have him! Took us long enough to drag him out of Samoa!!!

Interesting that Yobo is named, but it's not like we're city and can't afford to name him there.

For exactly how long can we assume the turkish transfer window to be open, regarding his possible departure? I'm pretty miffed about the fact he hasn't left yet. He must be fuming himself, like. He used to captain our side at several occasions ffs, now he's a stranger in his own home.
