A few interesting things for me:

*United have only played one top class side (Sevilla) and have still only won 2 out of 7.
*All of our rivals have toured Asia.
*Chelsea and Arsenal are looking especially strong.
*It's surprising that Spurs have only played 4 matches according to Sky Sports.
*Liverpool have only conceded 2 in 7.
*We've yet to keep a clean sheet.

cheers billy, interesting. Swansea have done something stupid like score 27 conceded 1 in their friendlies and europa combined. They have played poor opposition though, think they would have an outside chance of finishing above the ****e if it weren't for europe. Genuinely think they'll beat united in moyes' first game as well.

Not sure if i see any teams threatening the top 7, but if liverpool are without suarez for the season or last season's saurez, i can see them battling with teams like fulham, sunderland and west brom.

i really can.

looking at our pre-season the worrying thing is the goals conceded, especially against Accrington Stanley, I was fuming when we conceded that one!

I don't think you can read too much into pre season games. Players aren't fully fit, and managers typically change and tinker to find out what doesn't work just as much as what does work.

We'll get a more accurate reflection of how everything is working out after four or five games.

The results I've found for them are:

Gravenzande W 0-2
Haaglandia W 0-10
Yeovil W 0-5
Exeter W 0-2
Reading W 0-3
Malmo W 0-4
Malmo D 0-0

Impressive stuff. I think second-season syndrome will catch up with Laudrup and Michu and they'll suffer because of Europe. A few new faces such as Bony, Hernandez and Donnelly seem to be emerging though, so they might do alright.

When we have lost it's only been by the odd goal and there have been mitigating circumstances. We only had half a side against Vienna, the officials didn't help us against Real and the heat/tiredness played their part versus Valencia. If we were cruising through games it would mean that they weren't sufficiently challenging to prepare us for the new season.

You can cut these results many different ways....we tested ourselves against quality opposition and only really let ourselves down in the second half of Valencia. The RS didn't test themselves at all and still lost against Celtic. Tottenham are a surprise..but i would be a bit worried if I was a united fan. None of those games should have been an issue for them yet they struggled.

At the end of the day though, serious stuff happens next week. Lets take positives from our preseason....good playing time for Oviedo, Stones and Barkley, Jelavic back among the goals and Miralles looking amazing.
