Bunners

Player Valuation: £225k
I don't contribute too much to the forum but always follow the game day threads etc....

On those a lot are being made of Martinez's substitutions and they have been fab.....How refreshing is it to actually have options, I cant remeber the last time I looked at the bench and thought we have someone who could change the game, fresh legs, have enough about them to be brought on.

Under moyes and in previous seasons today would have ended nil nil or we may have even lost.

Thought Howard motm today helping us to weather the storm, but was also really impressed with McCarthy I think he is going to grow into the team, always wanted the ball and put himself about when he needed to.....that all needed energy that every team needs in m/f

I didn't think the bench was that strong, tbh.

Horses for courses did the trick in the end: Ossie puts it in against Villa generally speaking.

unless its done consistently with good results subs are always gonna be hit and miss

first few games in the season i remember reading on here his subs are like DM .....lol

thumbs up to the players who come off the bench and impact the game

Hence my point being about the bench rather than the subs RM made

01 Robles - surely more trusted than Mucha
07 Jelavic - was our main striker last year,
08 Oviedo
10 Deulofeu - young, raw but could create
14 Naismith
21 Osman - out of form admittedly but is a pro that has performed in the league for many years
26 Stones

to me thats as strong as I can remember...though maybe im on a high after that victory which looked unlikely in the first half

and theres a few missing as well

Aye but that game could have gone either way. Were going through a purple patch but there'll be a crap patch too.

Just hope our bi-polar internet lids have some credit in the bank for Martinez when that happens.

Were not as good as top three at the moment, but its boss to see us there.

One of the good things about Martinez is that he isn't afraid of substituting anyone if they're not doing the business. Lukaku, Mirallas, Barkley and Pienaar have all come off recently and their replacements have had an impact on the game.

...masks slipping all over the shop.

We're gonna win the leage! No, wait, Martinez out!

I'm so confused.

Couldn't agree with you more mate. The first thing Martinez did when he joined was to look at where we were weak and strengthen. At the very least the depth will make the winter months less arduous on the squad.

...what I like is that he doesn't feel obliged to bring the likes of Kone on. He paid relatively big bucks for the fella and I thought there was a time in the 2nd half when Lukaku was quiet, but he stayed with him and he scored the key goal. I am a Moyes fan but he always favoured his money men over others. Today was as much about the players he left on as brought off.
