Any blues like a bit of opera from time to time?

In a way the passions aroused by opera are quite similar to that of football, perhaps one of the reasons why the Italians have such a passion for both.

I performed many years ago in an English National Opera performance of Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro" at the Royal Court Liverpool amongst other places...

Appreciate I am opening myself up to a lot of stick here..

I like Nessun Dorma. Dunno if that counts like.

I do enjoy some classical music of a Sunday afternoon in the sunshine with a good book and a bottle of decent wine before a roast.

In summary, I'm with you Esk. I think.

Certainly counts! - who else can come out of the classical/operatic "closet" ?

Honestly.... I have no idea what its called or what's being said most of the time and I have zero background knowledge but I do know that I love what I hear.... I can't even say why.... It's the same with musicals or any other stage production..... And yes, from time to time people pass comment and snigger but so what ... I like what I like.... Good on you Esk.

My Grandma was Italian and so I used to hear a fair bit of Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli whenever we went to visit. It's not my thing but I can appreciate it for what it is.

I've never been to an opera (story with the music?)

I did get to see Luciano Pavarotti here in town back in the late 80's.

Full house.
