Out of all of J.R.R. Tolkein's many and varied characters ,which one would be your favourite, and why? I would have to choose Turin Turambar and all his many names, such a complex character and story.

Quite like Gothmog. The vulnerability in an evil character is cool.

Probably Gandalf really though. His actual power is only alluded to in LOTR, but reading the rest of Tolkien you get the impression he could've probably taken Sauron down by himself if allowed, but his mission was to get the free people of middle earth to sort their own affairs out.

Do you prefer Gandalf the grey or white?
I don't really notice the distintion between Grey and White to be honest. He's the same character.
Which Gothmog do you prefer - the Chief Balrog (Silmarillion) or the Captain of the Seige of Gondor (LOTR)? Strange choice.
