What a joke.

Forget the ref and the penalty. No Aguero, no Kompany, no Silva, Toure on one leg..... F'ing go for it!!!

Get McGeady on and give him 20. Instead we get Osman for 5 and leave Hibbert and Barry on

Martinez is losing me.

To be fair, McGeady is a bit tosh.

But yeah, he's making fewer subs and making them at later times, of late. Which is bizarre as you'd think that means he's happy with how it's going.

He's the only one, if so.

Didn't quite follow the reasoning behind Besic going off but Barry staying on. Would have done it the other way round myself.

And yes, the ongoing refusal to use the third sub is mystifying too.

McGeady was probably our best player after coming on against Hull.

I don't particularly rate the lid, but he's got pace and trickery. Why not put him on to have a go?

Last season nearly every sub was a great changing tactical alteration, this season he's like a golfer with the yipps.
Bobby normally always brings on attacking players, they're the ones that will make and impact but there's really not much on offer to bring on.

I look out our top five attacking players, Lukaku, Mirallas, Barkley, Eto and Naisy. There's then a massive jump between them five and out depth options. Naisy is injured and the other four are allready on. Whilst a sub does mix it up and will be fresh legs Bobby obviously feels that despite all that our bench options are still not good enough to make an impact. I think he doesn't have much faith in the rest of our attacking options outsite the players mentioned. I agree with Bobby, there's way to big of a gap between the ability of our better attacking players and our attacking rotation options.

Last season we had Del who we could bring on and would almost always make an impact, this season we've got players like Atsu and Ossie who can come on as a winger. Huuuuuge difference.

Totally agree. Our options aren't as good this season.

Surely today Barkley for Barry was the braver change given Barry's performance, recent injury and the fact he was on a red card? Or taking Hibbert off and bring Atsu or McGeady on when chasing a game in the final stages, not bringing on Osman with minutes to go and removing one of our most likely goal scorers?

Last season he wouldn't have hesitated making thought positive changes and that's what got people excited, it's like he's having a crisis of confidence at the moment when the big calls need making.

Why bring McGeady and Atsu in if you're not going to use them when you're a goal down at Spurs and City chasing an equaliser or when desperately needing a goal at home against lowly Hull!!???

No excuses given he's had a sub up his sleeve 3 games running.

Apparently our players a tired at the moment with the amount of games they are playing and is affecting their performances.

If only we had the option to take them off during games and put a fresh man on.

Sure, you don't always have to make changes for the sake of it but when Martinez has himself said about tiredness during games why on earth wouldn't you use all 3 subs?

My post was referring to the differences to our subs between last year and this year. Not on today's changes.

Barkley for Barry was the right call, having Barry on gave Barkley the licence to go forward, attack and run at players if Besic was on Barkley would have had to sat back more and we wouldn't have got as much out of him.

I completly agree on Hibbo should have gotten taken off. I like that fact Bobby mixed it up and gave Coleman a shot on the wing but Coleman wasn't playing to well so I would have also taken Hibbo off for McGeady when Barkley came on and put Seamus at RB.

I also agree that Ossie shouldn't have came on, I don't have any real problems with he time the sub was made because I want Mirallas on the pitch but to mix it up I woulda replaced him with Pienaar at the 80th min.
