One of our mates is missing in Bordeaux

Hope the lad's found safe & well.

The Irish (Or rather the N. Irish, and he's from Belfast apparently) fans have had a pretty poor time of it during this tournament (Off the pitch.)

People from Belfast are still Irish so no need for the pedantry given the circumstances, now happily resolved.

We're with the Republic - it's been amazing in Bordeaux, not seen any trouble. We'll be off to Lille if we can find Kevin.

Thanks, mate.

All the best out there, Andy.

Are you the bloke flying the Cliftonville fleg at the Republic of Ireland games :)

Watch out in Lille....Everton fans had a torrid time out there two years ago with local scallies and baton happy Plod.

Cheers mate.

I'm actually from the Republic so it's not me. Also didn't have tickets for the first two games but a couple of us have tickets for the Italy game.

I remember the troubles the blues fans had out there. We spoke to some Gardaí yesterday when searching for Perry and he said there's been no trouble in Bordeaux at all - hopefully it'll be the same in Lille.

Err...What 'pedantry'? Who said he wasn't Irish?

Two people from N. Ireland have died during the tournament. What's the problem with me saying he's from Belfast ffs?

None.

That's why I thought it odd you made the distinction between "Irish" and "N.Irish".

There is no team called "Ireland" in the Euros.

There is Northern Ireland and there is the Republic of Ireland.

And the sooner they follow the example of rugby, cricket and every other major sport in Ireland and send out one team consisting of players from the whole island the better and the less confusing to people.

So, what has he done?
Well, we got a mixed message from the police. They said he'd "been charged" and then went on the phone for a bit. Once he got off the phone, he told us an officer was with him in the hotel.

We got a cab to the hotel to find him there by himself, no cops in sight. He'd fallen asleep outside the club we were at and got his phone, wallet and watch stolen while he slept; they left him his passport, the kind hearted [Poor language removed].

He walked to a train station he knew and waited there for a bit in the hope one of us might show up. He got the train to a station near the hotel and went looking for the hotel on foot, having only ever gotten there by car. He asked at a cop shop and they gave him the wrong directions, not thinking to take his name or anything.

He asked that hotel where his was and walked there, but again, it was to the wrong one. He headed back to the train station and slept there for the night under his tricolour. He waited around a few hours and missed my mates by minutes and finally got directions to the right hotel. He wrote a message on the ground with stones saying he was alive and to meet him there. lol

Cops were useless as per every story about them on here. He's safe now though which is most important albeit a phone, wallet and watch lighter.
