Everton defeated Sunderland 7-1 on November 24, 2007, with visiting manager Roy Keane describing the result as “one of the lowest points” of his career

This was my youngest lad's first game at Goodison now 14 years ago, unfortunately he thought it was like this all of the time.
It was great to hear all of the stands in unison singing ' Keano, Keane what's the score'
Not surprised it was one of his darkest days in football, as bad as Sunderland were let's not take anything away from an excellent Everton performance.

Was Baines a starter straight away ? I honestly cannot remember for definite but i think it took him a little while to get into the first team. My memory is mush though haha.

No, Moyes preferred to blood Baines in slowly with Lescott mainly being left back, it was also the time when Lescott was scoring for fun (relatively, obviously).

I’ve just watched this again . How great was it going to the match back then. You knew more often than not the team would give it’s all. having 2 strikers on the pitch as well. Wow how I miss that lol

Well, according to the search overview, he never played for us lol



It says 10 in all competitions.

All in all for those few seasons we really did have a well oiled team, there were very few flaws across the whole team, just couldn't quite get over the hurdle and go on that step further.

You do wonder what Moyes would have done at Everton with some money, vary few of his buys didn't work whereas now very few of our buys do work. I felt he was somewhat thrown to the lions at Man U but fair play to him he's doing well with WHU.
