On Easter Saturday long ago....

I remember going in a van with "the lads" to villa, but we went down the "a" roads rather than the m6 and stopped off in some boss boozers. We enjoyed them so much (and the result) we went home the same way!!

I was there too - think crowd was 31000, at least 15-16000 blues there. Superb! To think just two and a half years later they mullered us 6-2. An unbelievable turnaround for that great team. Was there for that one too.
I went the 6-2 game platt got 3 or 4, my mate couldn't go watched it having Sunday dinner, when the sixth went in he threw his at the telly
The Sunday after his mam did an extra plate, when he asked who it's for his mam said "the effin telly"

That was a long time ago eh.

I wasn't even born.

Wow that hurt, Bad enough we’ve won nothing in over 30 years, but now you have to make me feel like crap over my age….thanks. The only solace I will have is in 30 years from now someone will post: “wow you remember when Everton didn’t win something every year. You are old.”
;)
I wont be around to see it but what comes around..

Great days.

I was at Goodison on Easter Saturday 1978 to see us beat Leeds 2-0 Latchford and McKenzie with a superb second.

We played 3 games in 4 days over Easter that year and won them all. 2-0 v Newcastle at St James's park on Good Friday. The aforementioned Leeds game on the Saturday. Then a 2-1 win at OT on Easter Monday.
